Welcome to Abbey Hill Literary

We are excited to welcome our 1st Quarter 2011 judge, Ms. Dawn Walls-Thumma.

AHLiterary.com is a fun and challenging place for short fiction writers of all stripes and kinds -- beginning, experienced, and everyone in between.  We welcome most genres of short fiction, written in English and up to 1,500 words, for our Quick Lit contest, from both domestic and international writers.

What do we do here? It would be easy to say, "We offer short story contests that invite, reward and publish exceptional short fiction."

Great, but where’s the challenge? Many writers have short stories stowed away that have already won prizes, or been singled out for other recognition, that can be dusted off and sent sailing across the Web and BAM! That excellent story wins yet another well deserved prize.

At Abbey Hill Literary we certainly respect and honor those stories, however, we’d like to challenge you to stretch your imagination and skills to produce new, original, never before published (or recognized) short fiction works, and reward them accordingly.

Critiques are again available this quarter!  Please review the Prize List under the Quick Lit Challenge link for more information regarding critiques for submitted stories.  In addition, if an author wishes to have a short story critiqued that is NOT a contest entry, this service is available for stories up to 5,000 words.  Please send an e-mail to editor@ahliterary.com for additional information.

Please note: There will not be a Flash Fiction contest this quarter.

Be sure to click on the Current Winners link to also read the exciting work of past winners, and enjoy their creativity, talent, and altogether original ways of approaching previous writing challenges.
