Social Services

The Denville Social Services Department is the “helping hand” of the Township of Denville. Our goal is to work with the citizens of Denville to enhance their lives through social service programs and respond to local needs as they arise. Our programs touch all age groups, from our infant children to our senior citizens.

Through our food pantry we provide emergency food for needy individuals and families. The food pantry is primarily supported by the generous donations of the people of Denville. We receive donations of non-perishable foods regularly through food drives from schools, churches, businesses and service organizations, as well as from concerned individuals.

Throughout the year we run additional programs for the benefit of those in need in the community. These programs include, but not limited to, Back-To-School Drive, Thanksgiving Food Drive, Holiday Baskets and Adopt-A-Family. All of these programs are supported by dedicated volunteers who work tirelessly to help meet the needs of our community.

We are a liaison for Denville Senior Citizens working with them to enhance local services for seniors and promote awareness of the services available.  The Social Services office provides durable medical equipment to residents such as canes, walkers and wheelchairs for use short-term. We also coordinate with additional Township services such as Meals-on-wheels and Dial-A-Ride to promote their programs and ensure accessibility to those in need.
